There's a popular saying in Hindi- "Sach humesha kadva hota hai.." Truth is always bitter, like medicine, the bitter the taste the more effect it has.

Movies & dramas about escaping death (I can name a few, most popular being Final Destination), making contacts with the Grim Reaper (even falling in love- Goblin, Hi School Love On!), becoming one (Soul reaper- Bleach), etc. have gained a tremendous amount of popularity, especially amongst the young generation. They are the medicine to escape the real world.

This has also given birth to VR/AR generation where you can create your own world, do whatever you want to, however you want to!
