Deja Vu
Déjà vu is that feeling when you arrive in a place you have never visited before, and it seems familiar to you. It gives you the feeling of nostalgia when you revisit a place full of unforgettable memories.
People often take it as a sign from above and beyond telling them something about the place, maybe linked to their life before. For some believe it's the result of watching familiar scenarios in TV commercials or movies.
What really happens is what I leave to you... people have varied perception and way of interpreting a situation.
Jamais Vu
The opposite of Deja Vu is Jamais Vu. When you visit a familiar place, it feels like the first visit. Or when you say a familiar word multiple times, it sounds weird.
It gives the illusion of a memory loss, a sort of amnesia where you lose a fragment of memory due to certain head injuries, heavy blood loss, or extreme trauma. Psychological change is one of the major reasons behind Jamais vu.
People often take it lightly since it feels normal to not remember something of less priority, or memories from your childhood since it's been too long. We blame it to our age and the detachment we had with the particular place, person or incident.
